Precipitation:
- In the temperate grasslands the rainfall is averaged to 10 to 30 inches a year.
- The lack of rainfall produces a dryer climate with shorter grasses.
- In the United States the precipitation can take form of snow with occasional blizzards.
- In the tropical and sub-tropical grasslands ( Savanna) the average amount of rainfall per year ranges from 25-60 inches of rainfall per year.
